Review: Betting on Bailey

Betting on Bailey Betting on Bailey by Tara Crescent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good ménage story

This was a good ménage story, I thought the build up was great and the end was okay but I'm a revengeful girl so I would have rubbed it in more.......

The writing style is good and easy, no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a good amount of dialogues which makes it nice to read.

Well described characters and with enough feelings so that you get to know them.

There is some great love scenes in there too so it gets hot once in a while.

I liked this story but there was just some feelings missing, and stay assured it's personal, for me it's 4 wobbly stars.

Review: Working It

Working It Working It by Christine d'Abo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Publishing date: February 6th

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Nolan fights with anxiety after a accident but is finally finding a job as Zack's assistant. Will they manage to work together when Zack struggles with his anger issues and Nolan his anxieties?

This story was lovely and I couldn't find anything that I didn't like about it. I think one of the main reasons I liked it so much was because Nolan's struggles with anxiety struck so close to home, I could really understand him. Zack had issues with his anger management and that made these two broken souls connect on an unexpected level.

The writing style is easygoing and with no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings, just straight to the point. It still made the feelings of the characters very much come alive. And at the end it's a crying bit that made the story even more precious to me.

The connection between Zack and Nolan is very good described and I thought the author did a nice build up in the storyline. The characters are well described and they made me feel so much for them.

I think this book is just as much about survival with all the happenings in the past and your current struggles, as it is about love between two people.

The way those two people grounded each other was excellent described, I feel their connection in my soul. There is a couple of hot scenes and their good but for the most I loved the sweetness in this story.

There's only one more thing to say, read this very sweet and realistic story about two men falling in love and accepting each other's scares and shortcomings.

Very good 5 star m/m romance.

Review: The Devil's Daughter

The Devil's Daughter The Devil's Daughter by Katee Robert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Eden returns to a place she thought she never coming back to where her mother is the leader of a cult. Now Eden is a FBI agent and comes to town after receiving a picture of a dead girl. She reaches out to sheriff Zach for help and even if his suspicious of her he agrees to take her help.

Not this authors usual book, but I must say she mastered it reasonably well. The plot was interesting and I didn't suspect the felon until the very end.

Her story telling is as good as always, easy to read and with lots of dialogues and some action scenes. There is even a little sexiness in there that made me think"Oh, that's the writer I know"

I feel like in many of the books in this genre it's very much unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and characters. Maybe that's why I liked this one since it was straight to the point but still managed to cover up the real felon.

But seriously, this book gave me a good thrill and was well worth reading. Im not a big fan of thriller/mystery but I liked this book. I would definitely read the next one.

Review: Max

Max Max by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sweet and rough Max

I bought this book and all the previous books in this series because I received a ARC of ROMAN, the seventh book, and I like to read books in their order. I took a chance and I do not regret it. This author never lets me down.

I thought Ryker was the man but Max is sailing to the top of my list of Cold Fury Hockey men. This sweet, caring, rough guy is all that Julianne didn't know she needed.

Julianne is raising her sisters 3 children after losing her to cancer, she has several jobs to keep their heads above water. Max comes to her rescue at one of her jobs and can't forget her. Can Julianne trust him to really want to be there for them all?

This story is about how we can loose our faith in other people because we don't think they can handle our life with all it's messiness. The build up in this story is great and all the feelings had me crying for those two.

Their declaration of love for each other was for me the best ever, and wow, the love scenes was hot and heavy.

I felt like I got to really know the characters and how they felt for each other. That's a must in my reading experience. The writing style is as always easy and to the point. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues makes this book a solid 5 star read.

Review: The Edge of Dominance

The Edge of Dominance The Edge of Dominance by Shayla Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodbye friends....

Macen is being charged with several allegations and Raine and Liam is doing everything they can to help him. The person behind it is someone Raine hoped would stand by her.

I'm sitting here with stars in my eyes which happens every time I read something from this author. What's not to love about this story, hot scenes, action and a little supernatural twist.........and don't forget a lot of love.

This is book 4 and what a delightful ending to the story of 3 people falling in love. I've been waiting for the end of this story since I read the third book. Even with stars in my eyes I feel like I've just said goodbye to 3 friends I won't ever see again, in other words I feel a little sad.

The writing style is so engaging you can't help be dragged in to the story, and the storyline is great, it all comes together in the end with some of the characters from previous books in this series. Liam and Macen's past is also revealed in this book so I felt that I got more understanding to Macen's behaviour.

There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and there are lots of dialogues, which if you read my reviews before, you know I love.

I could write a whole book about this series I think but I like short to the point reviews so I try to keep mine that way too. I just have one more thing to say; Liam's mother Bryn was a twist I really really loved in this last book.

I laughed, cried, cringed and loved every minute of this book.

Review: Hawke

Hawke Hawke by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Missing communication

Every time I start a new book in this series I feel a little nostalgic when the previous couple is mentioned and this time it was the worst because Ryker is my favourite. I stepped in to THIS story with a little caution and hoping it wouldn't be a disappointment.

Here's the thing, it was NOT a disappointment but Vale and Hawke could never reach Ryker and Grey in how the connection is described.
That been said, I liked this story very much but the communication between Vale and Hawke wasn't there in my opinion so that made me kind of impatient for them to understand each other. That is the reason for only 4 stars.

The author have the same good writing style still, easygoing and no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings. Lots of dialogues and well described characters.

This is a series but every book can be read as a standalone, my favourite kind of series. Even though I gave it only 4 stars it's a great read and remember; that's my personal opinion so don't let it stop you from reading. If you already have read the other books in this series, well you can't stop now ;-)

Review: The Maverick Cowboy

The Maverick Cowboy The Maverick Cowboy by Kate Pearce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Publishing date: January 31th

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

The veterinarian Jenna and the ex marine Blue is attracted to each other but they have a lot of baggage. Can they make a relationship work despite that?

I liked this story and the fact that it was realistically written not with overwhelming passion and fairytale, just plain love and attraction between two people. Sometimes it's nice to read these kind of stories in between the others.

What I did like about this story is that both Jenna and Blue are willing to think about their actions and reflect on their issues when they don't come eye to eye on every thing. That made them more human and more realistic in my opinion.

The writing style is straight forward with no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and there is enough dialogues.

The build up in the story was good and if I should mention one specific scene I liked it must be the scene at the breakfast table with Jenna's parents. I love how Blue and Jenna stood up for each other.

As an extra bonus there where a lot of side characters that I could picture story written for.........

A strong 4 star read and I still don't know why I can't give it more stars but for me it's all about how I feel after reading the story. I always wait one day before I write a review because then the story has time to settle in my mind. And this one just made me feel 4 star.............

Review: Shelton in Love

Shelton in Love Shelton in Love by Dianne Hartsock
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Publishing date: February 1th

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

I liked this story because it was wicked hot but also sweet. I wouldn't say there was something I didn't like but it was a beginning that I usually not experience in erotic/romantic stories. I think that made me it very interesting.

This is a story about being in a relationship not so much about the build up to becoming a relationship. It's a story about everyday things a couple struggles with in a relationship. Jealousy, accident, insecurities and most of all love.

I love the writing style, it's direct and with a good amount of dialogues. There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and the characters are well described. I sometimes felt like the story jumped a little and there was not much background information on the characters but at the same time I felt like I didn't need it.
The feelings and connection between the main characters was described in a way that made me feel them in my heart and soul.

I never complain about to many love scenes but for once I was a little overwhelmed by the many scenes. No complaints, but rather OMG there was a lot of hot scenes!

An unusual story that reaches for the 5 stars.

The best in this series!

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Sam has PTSD after serving and losing most of his team members in an attack and King is helping him cope with it. Afraid to get flashbacks and hurt someone he hasn't had a women in his bed after he came back. King sets out to help him by offering to be in the room if they find a women willing to do that. They find Jane who consider herself the good girl but turns out to be anything but when it comes to these two men. But what happens when she wants King too?

This story is easy on my mind, soul and heart and it's packed with emotions so I laughed and cried and ploughed through the book in no time.
There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings, a good amount of dialogues and that's enough to make me a very happy reader.

Third book in the Birmingham Rebels series, and for me it was the best because I loved that none of the three people involved had ever been in a polyandrous relationship before. That made this a very pleasurable journey to take with the characters. Also, after I received this ARC I had to buy the two first books because I'm a chronological reader.........

The love scenes was smoking hot, some of the best I've ever read and there're lots of feelings written in to this book.

Sam's worries for hurting the other two is sweet and little neurotic and I adored it. And I loved that Jane got so dirty talking during their interactions. She loses her inhabitants and lets her feelings and lusts guide her. King is trying to take care of everyone and he might be going a little overboard by making decisions for them all.

In the end I will say that I hope for more from the Birmingham Rebels cause there are so many secondary characters that deserves a story.

This is a sizzling 5 star.

Review: Finding Your Feet

Finding Your Feet Finding Your Feet by Cass Lennox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

I liked this story and Tyler and Evie is a sweet couple. I loved the way Evie took Tyler's baggage and insecurities even though she didn't know the reasons for it. Tyler didn't feel ready for a relationship but the feelings between him and Evie couldn't be ignored.

If this story is anything similar to the real life and challenges transgender persons have I admire their courage and pride.

I didn't feel like the subject of gender was the main topic but it was a underlying topic in the story and I think the author made a good job of not making the characters victims but real people that knows how it is to try living a good life in a world where we're all suppose to be "normal" (whatever that means)

The writing style of this author is easygoing and filled with dialogues so reading this is joyful and fast. And my favourite is as always; no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings!

The connection between Evie and Tyler is very good described and I fell in love with them because they seemed so real but it missed something to make them my favourites.

I'm a little indecisive about stars here and I can't give a very good reason but I liked the first book in this series better so I think this is a good 4 star read.

I look forward to reading the story of some of the secondary characters.

The storyline is good and the writing style is great. There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues so it's easy to read. Then again I wonder if it's too easy so my brain gets bored..........

I feel the sexual connection but I'm sorry to say I can't feel the emotional connection between the two main characters. Sad, but that's just my feelings about this story.

There is a whole lot of hotness in this story so the author nailed that, but I can't help feel like there is something missing, don't know what but again that's just how I feel. I really wanted to like it more because I've read works from this author before and liked it very much.

Sorry to give it a weak 4 star, the only thing saving it from being 3 is the hot love scenes.

Fake Engagement Real Temptation Fake Engagement Real Temptation by Joya Ryan

Carrie is left alone a few hours before her wedding, her brothers friend Blake takes the cheating fiancées place on their honeymoon trip to look after her. When they arrive the cheating fiancé and his girlfriend is there. Carrie and Blake decides to fake a relationship but what happens when the feelings get real?

This was a sweet story although a little like something I've read before. The storyline is a well known one but I still liked it.
The writing style is light and easy and there are a good amount of dialogues so it's a quick joyful read.
The characters are well described and it's enough emotions written in to their story to make it a little interesting.
There is some love scenes that are hot but not sizzling.
This story was good but not one of the best, it's a 4 star read.

Max and Patrick comes from very different worlds but they connect one night and don't see each other for years. Are the chemistry still there when they meet again?

I liked this story very much, the chemistry between Max and Patrick is hot and I think the author made a good work of getting it through in the story.

The storyline was good and I especially liked that there was not a long outdrawing of drama. The building up of the feelings between the two main characters are slow but with enough progress so it's not tiresome.

I liked the writing style because it was fun to read and straight forward with no big descriptions of the surroundings of the scenes, just setting the characters in the scene and describing their thoughts and feelings. The story is light and sweet and still holds enough seriousness to not feel like it's just scratching the surface.

There are lots of feelings and some very hot love scenes in this book and I appreciate that it's also sweetness in between the hotness which makes the love between the main characters come through more clearly.

I do recommend it if you like m/m romance and it's HEA for you who don't like series that goes on and on.

Review: Ryker

Ryker Ryker by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ryker is the man!

Ryker is fresh out of a marriage and has custody of his two little girls, Gray is the new GM of Carolina Cold Fury Hockey. They develop feelings for each other but that is not ethical so who should offer their career? Ryker, who has a few years left in his career or Gray who just started the greatest opportunity in her life?

The fourth book in Carolina Cold Fury Hockey series and it's great as all the others but this one is a shining star, I officially love Ryker!

Ryker is a very considerate guy, reflecting on things before acting on them. He's a caring guy who fights for everyone he loves no matter the consequences for him self. Gray has a lot of integrity and do everything to make it so that nobody suffers for her actions.

The relationship between this two characters is building to a nice finale in a excellent way. The actions they take are well considered and I liked that they're not young people but grown ups with experience.

There is so much soul searching in this book and I love that about this book. The writer did superb job in describing the relationship and the characters thoughts and feelings.

The writing style is as always easygoing and with enough dialogues to hold my interest. I feel like I repeat myself all the time when it comes to this author but there is no other way to say it other than: I love her books. It's no secret that it's some really hot love scenes in her books but there are good stories too and that is what I like about her stories, they have meaning.

What I also love about this series is that even if you're like me, that likes to read them in order you can read them as a standalone. No cliffhanger.....

Sweet 5 star

I loved this story, it was sweet and the characters was described in a way that made them feel realistic to me. Ryan's trust in Denny was total and that made me happy. The little conflicts in this book was enough to make it interesting and not so much that it was irritating.
The storyline of rich boy meets poor girl and falls in love is a little cliche but it might never be old.
I like the writing style, it's easy to read and with enough dialogues to hold my attention.
I look forward to reading the next and even though it's a series it's each book is a standalone. Yeah!

Zack Zack by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seriously great 5 stars

Zack is broken after his wife died in a car accident and he's left alone with his son. His sister helps him find a nanny and Kate adjust well to the two of them.

I liked this story very much, Zack is kind of a idiot at times but his hurting and the author are good at describing what he's going through. Kate is goofy and fun and takes it all at stride. I felt for the characters and they are well described so I feel like I know them now.

The easygoing writing style of this author is a joyous read. There is no filling of words just to make the story longer, it's to the point and lots of dialogues so I read in no time at all.

I really liked the build up in the story and it was a great HEA. Again, I love a series with HEA in each book so I can read the next half a year later and still feel like I haven't missed anything because I can't remember the previous.

Seriously great 5 star story.

Grace is on a cleansing cure after being betrayed by her ex, she's not supposed to have any physical relationship and eat "clean" food to get a more emotional connection to people. But then she meets Jeremy.......

I just love the crazy theme of cleansing your life, and I love Grace and Jeremy. This story made me laugh and cry.

I've read the other books in this series except for the first, and I loved them so the author didn't disappoint me this time ether. Now I'm going to have to buy the first and read that one :-)
That's one of the things I love about these books, even if they're a series each one can be read as a standalone. Although I prefer to read a series in their order I don't regret reading these books out of order at all.

The writing style is easygoing and have enough dialogues to hold my attention throughout the whole story. I loved the build up in this story and that the author still made some scenes worth the wait.......

The characters are well described and I feel like I got to know them well; Jeremy with he's scepticism for longer relationships and Grace with her issues with trust. But when faith brings them together several times it seems inevitable.

I think this was another successful HEA and a beautiful 5 star read.

Good #GeekLove story

I liked this story about Mikki and Jared who works for two different companies and find together at a convention. Many I would have liked it more if it had contained more feelings, it felt a little flat at times but don't get me wrong; I enjoyed it very much.
The writing style is easygoing and sweet with some hotness at occasions. I shuffled between reading and listening and the voice reading was good too although not perfect.
There are not any unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a good amount of dialogues so I was kept interested throughout the story.
It's still a HEA if it's the first in a series and I do like those kind of series. So I would gladly read the next.
Good 4 stars read.

I loved this story but I'm feeling it's been dragged out and I'm aching to know Ryker's secrets......
Rae and Rykers story continues from the first book and it's spinning my mind, what is Ryker hiding and Rae is still strong as ever even if she's wrecked from time to time.

This is another cliffhanger but these stories are so good I can't stop reading, and the secondary characters are finally coming more in to the picture.

They all come to life through the great writing style. There are feelings and descriptions that are keeping me wanting for more and more and more............

There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so the reading is going so smoothly that practically cry because I want more when I'm finished...

Another great 5 star read and I can't wait to find out the rest.

I liked this story about two nerds falling in love, it was light and sweet with som hot scenes.
The writing style is easygoing and with the right amount of dialogues to keep my interest. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings is also very good in my opinion.

The storyline was good but not the best, I felt like I just scraped the surface of the story so there could have been more filling. Then again it made the story easy to read and I DID enjoy it.

If I should pinpoint something that didn't resonate with me, it must be the jump in the story at the end but still it's a strong 4.

Iona is the new coach and Ty is a star player on the team, chemistry between them is sizzling but is that acceptable?

I liked the story but I think I would have liked it more if some of the scenes wasn't so much about football, but that's just because I'm not in to the game.

The writing style is good, easy to read and filled with feelings. The characters are well written and I got to know them fairly well.

The story is about how people can lose all sense of self worth if you have to always struggle to prove that you are good enough. It's also about fear of being left on your own without support.
