Review: Crossed Forces

Crossed Forces Crossed Forces by Autumn Ruby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the authors and freely give my review*

Candice and Blake is meeting under unconventional circumstances. Can love grow when war and destruction is surrounding two people who feels the connection?

In the beginning I had difficulty connecting to the characters but they worked their way in to my heart through the story 💜

What I liked:
* Lots of emotions
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* Seriously hot love scenes
* Emotional and sweet, feelings are well described
* Both Candice and Blake has experienced loss so they have some similar references to life experiences.
* Lots of dialogues (which I love)
* Good storyline
* Secondary characters that makes me want their story too, omg Grayson 😯
* Leaving me feeling happy and at the same time hopeful for the next book.

For a debut novel this is really good. I hope this duo keep writing many books and perfect their writing cause this was a strong 4 star 🌟 read.

Quotes and Highlights:

“It strikes me how happy I feel in this moment. I only met her a few weeks ago, and for some reason, I feel like I have my whole world in my arms. To be honest, that scares the shit out of me.“

“Now and again people come into your life and afterwards it's never the same. You change somehow because of them, they complete you when you didn't know you were missing a piece.“

“As the chapter unravels his voice grows quieter. “Oh my god, Candice I can't believe you read this stuff. It’s pretty full on.”

“My whole future. I didn’t realise how lost I was until I found her.”

Title: UNTL YOU’RE MINE
Author: Cindi Madsen
Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Until You’re Mine
You might’ve heard of me, Shane Knox, the guy who rose quickly through the MMA fighter ranks, only to crash just as fast. No one cares about personal reasons when it comes to losing fights and money. I’m determined to get back to where I was. For you to hear my name again. I’ve finally convinced the owner of Team Domination to take a chance and get me back in fighting—and winning—shape. What I didn’t bargain for is the guy’s spitfire of a daughter. Factor in her two professional-fighter brothers who are acting as my coaches and the fact that my career hangs in the balance, and Brooklyn’s the last girl I should be fantasizing about.

The closer we get, the more I want Brooklyn. The stakes are high, and I know there’s a big chance of both of us getting hurt, but I won’t stop until she’s mine.

About Cindi Madsen:
Cindi Madsen is a USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children.

Until You're Mine by Cindi Madsen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

Brooklyn has been burned before when she was involved with a MMA fighter and has no desire to make the same mistake.
Shane is supposed to concentrate on his training and upcoming fight but he can’t get the daughter of his trainer off his mind.

Will they crash and burn or can they survive this attraction?

What I didn’t like about this story:
In my opinion it was a little slow in the beginning, and that’s all I have to complain about.

This is what I liked about the story:
* Good storyline
* Well described characters
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* A good amount of dialogues
* Love scenes filled with feelings and hotness
* The author manages to write feelings in to the story so I feel like I get in to the story with the characters

A good 4 stars 🌟 romance I recommend if you want a easy read.

Review: Zero Hour

Zero Hour Zero Hour by Megan Erickson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

After their friend is killed when he discovers his bosses criminal activities a team of coders is trying to revenge their friend’s death by finding evidence of his boss’s crimes.

A romantic suspense thriller from one of my favourite authors and I was so exited to read but also a little apprehensive because I’ve never read anything like this book from her before. I was NOT disappointed, she manages to hold my interest, give the story some hot scenes and a little twist in the end.

I love this book, it was easy to read with lots of dialogues, I was concerned that it would be a lot of computer science language but surprisingly it was very understandable.

The characters are well written and the emotions is coming through very good in the dialogues.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and some interesting dialogues makes the story very entertaining to read.

There’s some authors that manages to write the secondary characters in a way that makes you want to get their story too, and this author is one of them. After finishing the book I couldn’t stop thinking about them and wonder how their story goes......... I look forward to the next in this series.

5 hot, thrilling stars from me.

Review: All I Want by Stella Starling

All I Want All I Want by Stella Starling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is one of this feel good books I love to read, especially around holidays. It’s written with a lot of emotions and the characters is well described in a way that makes me feel like I know them and connect to them. Because of that I get drawn in to the story and forget about my own life to be present in this books world.

I loved the personal growth Ben/Ash had in this story, from being a spoiled rich man to see the realities of life from another perspective and understand that the world is different for each person.
The connection between Ben/Ash and Elliott is described with very much feelings so I can see why they should be a couple. I’m amazed at Elliott’s way of making Ben/Ash see that he can be a better person without even knowing that he do that.

There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a good amount of dialogues so the reading was very enjoyable.

The love scenes are sweet and tender, but still hot.

5 shining stars 🌟 from me for a very good m/m romance.

Quotes and Highlights:

“He’d never met someone who was so in tune with himself, and had never spent time with someone who was so effortlessly easy to get along with”

“It was perfect. Soul achingly perfect. When it broke, Elliott’s resolve broke with it.”

“Heat pooled inside him as they kissed, and the possessive way Ben held him made the flame warming it burn even brighter. When the kiss finally broke, Elliott was left struggling to catch his breath.”

Review: Good with his Hands

Good with his Hands Good with his Hands by Erika Wilde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and freely give my review*

Is there a second chance for Tess and Morgan when she comes back to her hometown after leaving him behind years ago?

One thing I both liked and disliked was that it was that the storyline was not complicated but at the same time it felt a little to easy on the boarder of being boring. That’s all the complaints I have so her comes what I really liked:

* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* Well described characters
* Lots of feelings
* Hot and sweet love scenes

I recommend this book if you want a sweet, hot, easy read.

Review: Claimed By An Alpha

Claimed By An Alpha Claimed By An Alpha by Scarlett Avery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

More awesomeness

The story goes on........ and it’s great.

I could have said a lot but I think I’m going to save it for the last book in this series.

This is book 3 of 4 and if it hadn’t been for the cliffhanger I would have given it 5 stars 🌟

Quotes and Highlights:

“The only words I want from you are ‘yes’, ‘more’ and ‘fuck me hard’.

“You’re mine now, and you should know by now, I don’t do vanilla sex.”

“They say in life everything happens for a reason. If that’s true, how can you explain death?”

“You’re mine now and I’m here for you.”

Curvy ConquestCurvy Conquest by Scarlett Avery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great read

This is the last book in a series of 4 books and if it all had been in one or maybe two books I would have loved it even more than I do.

Another thing I didn’t like so much in the beginning but changed in the end of book 2, beginning of book 3 approximately; Max feelings for Candy wasn’t described in a way that made me as a reader convinced that he loved her from the very beginning. That could also be because we only get Candy’s POV. But it’s definitely worth the read and what I do love is:

* Good easygoing writing style
* Lots of dialogues
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* Very hot love scenes
* Great characters descriptions
* Emotional and sweet with a lot of feelings

To summarise; great read and had it been one book and both main characters POV it would have been full score, as it is it’s a very good 4 star read I fully recommend.

Quotes and Highlights:

“You come off all innocent, Candy, but in reality, you’re such a filthy girl.”

“You asked me to help you unleash the wild child in you. Well, welcome to the jungle.”

Review: Alphas Love Curves

Alphas Love Curves Alphas Love Curves by Scarlett Avery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Candy is a curvy girl with bad experiences when it comes to guys. When a stranger is checking her out she is suspicious to what he wants from her. Will she get to know his agenda?

The story was exiting and fun and the writing style is easygoing and a joy to read. I felt like the characters are well described and I got to know them fairly well.

As always with a short story like this there is something missing to make it a 5 star, but by reading the next books in this collection I hope it will be there. It's a strong 4 stars!

One thing is for sure though, I liked the book a lot and I will read the next book and the next, and the next and..............

Quotes and Highlights:

“I didn’t know Manhattan could look this beautiful.” I turn around, still mesmerized by the city at my feet. He’s taken a few steps back and he’s casually leaning against a wall with both hands crossed over his chest. “From where I’m standing, you’re the beautiful one.”

“I keep bumping into you, Candice. Wouldn’t you say it’s fitting I get to know if you are as sweet as your nickname?”

Curvy Girls Do It BetterCurvy Girls Do It Better by Scarlett Avery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So worth the cliffhanger

I love the story but what makes this a 4 stars read for me is that it’s short and a cliffhanger.

Candy and Max’s story continues and it’s hot, fun, intriguing, sweet and emotional.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues and there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings so it makes the reading experience very good.

Characters descriptions is good and the feelings and connection between Candy and Max is described with emotions.

The love scenes is hot and sweet.

This is book 2 of 4 and it has a cliffhanger but it is worth it.

Quotes and Highlights:

“A dress makes no sense unless it inspires men to take it off of a woman’s body. Honey, yours make me want to rip it off with my teeth.”

Review: Menage Romance: Our Dirty Little Princess: Billionaire Romance

Menage Romance: Our Dirty Little Princess: Billionaire Romance by Scarlett Avery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I liked this story very much, if I should complain about something it most be that the story was too drawn out in some of the scenes.

When that’s said, it was a great story with a lot of feelings. There’s no unnecessary descriptions and a lot of dialogues so I really enjoyed reading it.

The writing style is easygoing and fun, I love the banter between the three of them and that Amelia manages to take her men by surprise with her free spirited mind.

The characters are well written and I love that we get all 3 characters POV that makes me feel like I know them all in the end.

If you’re looking for hot ménage love scenes and sweet lovely romance I recommend you dive in to this one.

Because I think the story was a little drawn out it’s a weak 5 stars ⭐️ from me.

Review: From Out in the Cold

From Out in the Cold From Out in the Cold by L.A. Witt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Very emotional story

This is a story about loss, grief, survival and hope.
Both Jeremy and Neil has experienced loss and trauma and their coming together was a very emotional story that moved me.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues so the story flows very well. There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings which is a bonus.

Characters descriptions is good and the feelings is very present in the story, I feel like the characters is raw end emotional. I like when I get a feeling of knowing the characters well and the author manages to make me feel that in this story.

This was a beautiful story with much feelings and love scenes filled with emotions.

A m/m romance I recommend, just prepare to cry a little.

Quotes and Highlights:

“I couldn’t help being happy there was one place in the world where the two of us would always be, one way or another, together.“

“She stroked my hair, and I cried as much because of all the pent-up grief and resentment as I did because of the deep, bone-shaking relief that for the first time since long before I lost Bruce, there wasn’t a wall between Mom and me.“

Review: Most of All You

Most of All You Most of All You by Mia Sheridan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cry sugar, cry

This book was a bit like poetry, philosophically , sweet and dark, I liked it very much. However I have to complain about the beginning; the story didn’t manage to captivate me until approximately 25% in, but then again I couldn’t stop reading and when the story ended I was a crying mess.

I have marked so much of this book because it’s a lot of wonderful sentences that needs to be shared. Most of all I wish people would read the story.

The storyline is good and the characters are well written with lots of emotions.
There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and plenty of dialogues so the reading experience is great.

A solid 5 stars 🌟 read I recommend highly.

Quotes and Highlights:

(This is just some of them because there was so many good one)

“And you, most of all, you. I want to look at you and say, one evil man did not stop me from presenting my heart to the girl who claimed it. You get my heart, Eloise. You. And, God, I hope you want it. But if you don’t, I still won’t regret giving it to you. Even then, I won’t regret loving you because it means I win.”

“I’ve always pretended I was made of stone, but the truth is, I feel more like I was formed from sand, as if I might crumble at any second.”

Review: Sweet Attraction

Sweet Attraction Sweet Attraction by Melanie Munton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

A woman running from the city to start over in a small town, but on her way there she has a one night stand with a man she never thought she would see again. Oh, was she wrong.

This story was sweet, fun and very hot, I loved it. Reading the first half of the book I laughed sooooo........The Land Of Multiple Orgasms......... and the variation of ABBA’s song Mamma Mia........fun, fun, fun.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues so I couldn’t stop reading, the bonus is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings.

Love scenes with a flammable hotness, check!

The characters are well described with a lot of feelings and I feel like their my friends when we part ways in the end of the book.

If you want a feel-good book to just get away from reality this is a super book. 5 fun, sweet and hot stars 🤩

Quotes and Highlights:

“Providing for a family is about a lot more than putting money in the bank. It’s about attending to your family’s needs and being the glue that holds everything together during rough times. It’s about never giving them a reason to question whether or not you love them. And it’s about putting their happiness before yours.”

Review: Hard Flip

Hard Flip Hard Flip by Allyson Lindt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

This was a very good story and I could not stop reading because the story was so engaging.

Ash is living with her sister and is trying to take care of them both but she struggles to find work in a field that’s male dominated and without education it’s even worse. Then she meets a man that need to hire a fiancé, is this the solution to her struggles?

The storyline is good and with a little twist in the end just to make it even more intriguing.

Characters descriptions is good and I feel like I know them at the end of the book.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues makes it more joyful to read.

I felt that the quarrel (there’s always a quarrel or disagreement) was a little.....hmmm.....don’t know how to say it.......many blurry, not quit clear enough for me to understand why they even was having this disagreement. But that could be on my part. Anyway, it all ends well as it should in a good HEA.

It is a 5 star 💫 story even if the stars is a little weak.

Quotes and Highlights:

“Never apologize for thinking or feeling.”

“All the variety, all the charm, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.”

“You’re made up of the good and the bad. Leave one behind, hide it, pretend it doesn’t exist, and you’re not you anymore.”

“It wasn’t just love that flowed between them. He made her feel safe and wanted and equal and worthy and everything she craved. And she had no doubt, she offered him a similar balance. It wasn’t that she’d been less-than-whole before, but now, she could see it. She could live it. With him.“

Review and release day: Down by Contact

My 5 star review in the end of this post!!!

DOWN BY CONTACT (The Barons #2):

Simeon Boudreaux, the New York Barons’ golden-armed quarterback, is blessed with irresistible New Orleans charm and a face to melt your mama’s heart. He’s universally adored by fans and the media. Coming out as gay in solidarity with his teammate hasn’t harmed his reputation in the least—except for some social media taunting from rival linebacker Adrián Bravo.

Though they were once teammates, Adrián views Simeon as a traitor and the number-one name on the New Jersey Predators’ shit list. When animosity between the two NFL players reaches a boiling point on the field, culminating in a dirty fist fight, they’re both benched for six games and sentenced to joint community service teaching sullen, Brooklyn teens how to play ball.

At first, they can barely stand to be in the same room, but running the camp forces them to shape up. With no choice but to work together, Simeon realizes Adrián is more than his alpha-jerk persona, and Adrián begins to question why he’s always had such strong feelings for the gorgeous QB…

DOWN BY CONTACT is out January 16, 2018.

Subgenres: m/m contemporary sports romance; enemies-to-lovers.

Teaser
I extended one arm so I could lightly touch the corner of his mouth. “You’ve got something right there.”
The dark wings of his brows crashed down in consternation, and a flood of conflicting emotions danced across his striking face, but none of them was indignant or annoyed or disgusted—the reactions I was used to getting from straight men when I touched them and they weren’t interested. Or sometimes even when I touched them because of interest that was obvious to me and not to their own selves. Denial was powerful in most men, but Adrián Bravo settled on intrigued.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
I brushed the pad of my finger against his lips, wiping the syrup away even though it left the remnants of sticky residue. Touching his mouth sent my thirst into hyperactive overdrive, and my mind betrayed me. Filled with images of dragging him closer for a messy kiss where I used my tongue to get him clean right before dragging him to the bathroom to get really nasty.
Where was my common sense? My inner angel to tell me to stop craving this bastard just because he had a pretty face and, according to him, a talented dick? Hadn’t I learned my lesson? My dick going from half-mast to fully risen proved otherwise. I would absolutely go down on him in the bathroom if the opportunity arose. I could hate him even while he was in my mouth.
He wasn’t reacting as much as I wanted him to, so I dropped my hand next to his and upped the ante.
“You got some on your fingers too.”

“Yeah? You gonna get all mother hen on me about that too?”
He thought he was so cool and collected. It was kind of cute how much he underestimated my competitive spirit.
“Not quite mother hen, but . . .”

I grabbed his hand after a quick scan of the diner, and brought it to my lips. His arm locked up briefly, a spasm going through his fingers, but he didn’t fight. Not when I parted my lips, and not when I enveloped the syrup-covered digits with my mouth. I sucked the syrup off, suctioning harder than I needed to for the current situation, and flicked my tongue.
“Oh fuck.”
We locked eyes. There was no hiding how dilated his had become. The way his breathing had picked up, or the bouncing of his knee.
I slid my mouth off, leaving his fingers coated in saliva, and grinned.
“I won this round, Bravo.”
Adrián grabbed a napkin with trembling hands and roughly wiped his fingers.
“Yeah. I guess you did.”

*A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and I'm freely giving my honest review.*

Book #2 in The Barons series can be read as a standalone but it makes the reading experience better if you read in order because characters from book #1 is appearing in this book.

I love the Barons and the story of Simeon and Adrián is intense, in the beginning I despised Adrián but longer out in the story his behaviour made some sense. He is learning a thing or two about himself and the personal growth is a sweet thing in this story.

Hassell has the best way of writing a story that totally takes over your mind and leaves you wanting to read forever.

There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a lot of dialogues so the story flows very well and I have trouble setting my Kindle down.

Characters descriptions is well done and I get the feeling of knowing them on a personal level, I love when a author manages to make me feel that way because that means my heart is in to the story.

The storyline makes is very good and it goes forward steadily and is not rushed or to slow. Even though I didn’t like Adrián much in the beginning there’s no denying the connection between him and Simeon, it’s hot and sizzling from the beginning and the love scenes is emotional and hot.

Another win in my book for this m/m romance. 5 🌟
