Review: Wheels Up

Wheels Up by Annabeth Albert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC and freely give my review of it*

Dustin is putting a lot of pressure on himself to be what he thinks his father wants. Wes struggles with being away from his sister who is sick. These two men meets online and have one face to face meeting. Suddenly they are in a predicament, Dustin is Wes’s superior when Wes is transferred to his unit.

I liked this book very much, it’s hot and entertaining and I felt for the guys and their situation.

The writing style is easygoing and has a lot of dialogues so reading it was a joyful experience. It flows very well, I didn’t want to put it down when I first started reading.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a lot of good descriptions of characters. This is one of those books where the author manages to get the characters come alive in my mind. Lots of feelings and the love scenes is emotional described so i felt it in my heart.

This is actually one of those books I could read again in a year or two just because I enjoyed it so much.

I haven’t read to many books from this author but now I’m going to find them and read.

Good 5 star m/m romance.

Review: Ripples by Aleatha Romig

RIPPLES
A Consequences Novel
By Aleatha Romig
Release Day – Oct 31, 2017
Standalone

Ripples: A Consequences Stand-alone Novel

You don’t have to read the Consequences series to enjoy this stand-alone novel, but if you know Tony Rawlings, you know that disappointing him isn’t an option. Imagine being his youngest daughter...imagine telling him the unimaginable...

“Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”

Sometimes ideas find you, and dreams begin as nightmares. Sometimes the truth that has been kept hidden is the key to opening a door you never knew existed.

“You might not know me. I’m the baby of the Rawlings family, the princess, the daughter who came along later. I’m not like my older siblings, successful at everything they touch. My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I’m not spoiled. I’m also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don’t know their past, and that doesn’t matter. I know what I’ve seen—two people devoted to one another.

I don’t believe that I’ll ever find that kind of love, the kind that forgives and accepts all. And as my life falls to pieces and I travel to visit my family to face their disappointment, I’m not even looking for it. I’m looking for an escape...from my life as a Rawlings...from the pressure to achieve and not let others down. I dream of the time I can live for my own desires without the expectations that come with my name.

I don’t find what I’m seeking...it finds me. Or should I say...he finds me.

This time is different. I have a family who will search for me and find the answers. Little do we know—any of us—that my father set my journey into motion long before I was born.”

"Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects." ~Dalai Lama

Ripples (Unabridged Version) is Natalie’s story, the youngest of Tony and Claire’s children—their baby. This story first appeared in shorter form in Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings. Due to the length restriction of each novella in that anthology, many scenes in Ripples were shortened or omitted for that anthology. This unabridged edition is the entire story—double in length and—a full-length novel.

Please enjoy this Consequences novel along with special appearances from your favorite Consequences characters.

I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ it’s difficult to decide if I like it or not....review will come.

I haven’t read the Consequences series but this story can be read as a standalone so I took a chance on reading it. After I’ve read it I wants to jump in to the first of those books but at the same time I’m afraid to do so.......

I love when a story intrigues me from the first sentence and I was indeed intrigued throughout the whole story but at the same time I was repulsed by some of the things Dexter did to Natalie.

In some ways one can say that Natalie was a meek women submissive of Dexter, but at the same time she was strong and learned from all she was going through. I’m not sure which is most correct.

When it comes to writing style this author has a way of writing that makes the story flow without a moment of stagnation.

The characters are well described but Dexter could have a little more background info to make him more humane in my opinion. I felt like I got to know Natalie better.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues equals happy reader 🤓

This was a absolutely intriguing story but as I said before I’m not sure I love it or hate it so I give 4 stars with the possibility of 5 in the future if I ever read it again.

Review: Six Pack Ranch

Six Pack Ranch Six Pack Ranch by Vivian Arend
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and freely give my review*

Book 1
I love this book, and this is the second time I've read it. This is book 1 in a series, they can be read as standalone but you get a more fulfilling feeling when you read them in order because of the secondary characters in each book.

Jaxi wants Blake, and he wants her too but he thinks the age difference is to big. When Jaxi sets her mind to win him over he doesn't have a chance, does he?????

The writing style is easygoing and fun and full of dialogues. When there's also no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings this is a very enjoyable read.

One of the things I love the most about this series is you get small glimpse of the secondary characters and the expectations of what to come is building. You will want to jump in to the next book.

And all the feelings in these books.....oh it hot, sweet, sad and heartbreaking but so happy for one couple in the end of each book. So HEA is secured.

I recommend this book if you like to be entertained and enjoy a book that's easy to read

Book 2
Emotional story

Beth and Daniel is agreeing to have a friends with benefits relationship but things get more serious along the way.

This was a emotional story most of all. All the suffering Beth had gone through with her late husband was heartbreaking. Still she comes out a strong women. Daniel has his own backstory that isn't all that fun.

Since I've been a single mom at a point in my life I have come to love stories about single moms finding love. Although real life isn't as easy as this story makes it sound when you find a new man, it is a story and I enjoy very much the happy ending.

This authors writing style makes it a very joyful read, no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues, what's not to like?

The characters are well described and I get a feeling of being in the story with them. This leads to laughing, crying and sighing through the story.

And the love scenes are a great bonus that's filled with emotions, just how I like it.

Another 5 star story from this author.

Book 3
Always enjoyable

The third book in this series is also good, Hope and Matt is a unlikely couple because of their past but in the end they fit perfectly.

The writing style is easygoing and filled with dialogues and when there's no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings my reading experience is so good.

As with all of Arend's books I've read she writes the characters with so much feelings, and probes in to their mind in a way that makes me feel like I know them well.

Sweet and hot story with HEA, 5 good stars ✨

Review and excerpt: Miss Fix-It by Emma Hart

MISS FIX IT
BY Emma Hart
Release Day – Oct 31, 2017
Standalone

One handywoman.
One single dad.
One set of twins.
And the wall isn’t the only thing being drilled…

I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me.
Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town.
Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me.
On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.
In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.
I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.
And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.
Oops…

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies—usually wine—and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy—unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.

EXCERPT

“I swear, messing with me is your new favorite hobby.”
“It is,” he admitted, eyes sparkling. “You’re so easy to mess with, I don’t even have to try.”
I rolled my eyes. “And to think—I let myself be guilt-tripped into this.”
“More fool you. I warned you about her, and you obviously didn’t listen.”
“That’s so not fair. I did listen, I just don’t have freaky skills to avoid the guilt like you do.”
“I don’t avoid the guilt. I pretend.”
“Would you have pretended if you were me, knowing you’d leave a poor guy to be lonely?”
He raised his eyebrows. “I wouldn’t have been lonely. I’d have watched TV with my pants off.”
“You don’t get to use my plans as an excuse,” I scoffed. “And unless your daughter is a master manipulator, you would have been lonely.”
“She’s four. All four-year-olds are master manipulators. If kids came with manuals, that would be the title of the chapter that talks about age four,” he said.
“There are technically manuals. They’re these wonderful, futuristic things called books.”
“None of which are geared toward a single dad,” he pointed out. “The last time I Googled something, I diagnosed Eli with a rare, deadly disease, learned that there are way too many styles of braid for any human being to master, and also found out how to get the kids out of the door by eight and have time to do my make-up.”
I paused. “I can see how that last one would be of use to you. Your mascara looks wonderful today.”

Kali is something as unusual as a handywomen, she is hired to fix two bedrooms for a dad and his twins. The job turns out to be more than just a job when the little humans makes a way in to her heart.

This story was very sweet and had a lot of fun moments, It brought out both laughter and excitement in me. The writing style is easygoing fun and filled with dialogues.....happy me.

In my opinion the author did great work when building up the connection and relationship between Kali and Brantley, it was at a slow but steady pace. The relationship between Kali and the kids also felt natural and not forced. Very good job on that.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and to the point writing is very enjoyable.

Love scenes are hot and entertaining but not dragged out to get more words, and there is also a lot of feelings so it’s emotional and sweet.

If you love HEA and family finding together this is a safe choice with a very good storyline.

I nailed it with 5 stars 🌟

Review: Rocky Mountain Romance

Rocky Mountain Romance Rocky Mountain Romance by Vivian Arend
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*I was gifted this ARC from the author and freely give my review*

Melody and Steve had kind of a relationship that ended a year ago, it was not a all good relationship so now when Steve asked for another try Melody is a little reluctant. Has Steve changed from a laid back easygoing man to a more responsible man?

This was a great story filled with emotions, I laughed, cried and lived with them both.

The storyline is good and the characters are very well written, there’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues so it was a great read.

Melody has to fight some hard fight against old set in their ways ranchers in her job as a veterinarian but she can handle it and I like strong women characters. Yes, they can be sweet and feminine too but they have to have a backbone to get my approval and Melody has that.

Steve has grown in to a man with integrity, caring and considerate to Melody and her needs.

The love scenes is tastefully described and filled with feelings.

Arend knows how to give me both romance and hot steamy scenes and keeping a story that has meaning.

Very good 5 stars read.

About THE V CARD:

A brand new sinfully sexy standalone romantic comedy from bestselling authors Lauren Blakely and Lili Valente!

When you think about how easy it is to lose keys, phones, sunglasses and your dignity on social media, you might figure it'd be a cinch for me to ditch my V Card.

You'd be wrong.

At 25, I run a successful business, live in a fantastic apartment, and have fabulous friends to go out with any night of the week. And yet I'm still a card-carrying member of a club I don't want to belong to anymore. Good thing I know just the man for the deflowering job—my brother’s business partner and best friend.

Graham Campbell is charming, smart, and, I’m told, oh-so-skilled in the sack. As long as I keep my eyes on the prize, there’s no way this pluck-the-flower project could possibly complicate matters.

***

Work and pleasure. As the CEO of a fast-growing company, I've been enjoying both to the fullest. What do I do when the board throws me for an unexpected loop so I can keep my business in my hands? I enlist the help of my best friend's little sister since she holds a big stake in the company. But then I learn there's another big stake she wants.

The one between my legs.

I can do this. Seven nights to teach her everything I know in the bedroom. There's no way I'll fall for her, even though she’s earning top grades in every single sinfully sexy lesson. And turns out I’m learning something too. The trouble is I don’t have the answer key to what to do when I fall hard for her.

And that throws a whole new hitch in my plans.
